I’m Callum Weiss. I run Everglades Lumber Exchange myself.
What ELX is
ELX is a small independent service for people who buy lumber and building materials in South Florida. You send a material list. I ask several yards for current pricing, availability and delivery terms, and send you the comparison. If you pick a yard, you buy directly from it.
What ELX is not
- Not a lumber yard. I don’t stock, sell or deliver materials.
- Not affiliated with any yard or supplier, including ones with a similar name.
- Not a payment processor. The yard invoices you and you pay the yard.
How ELX makes money
Buyers pay nothing. When a yard completes an order that ELX introduced, the yard pays ELX a referral fee, currently 5% of the material total. That is the whole business model.

Your contact details are shared with a yard only after you approve the match. See the privacy policy for details.
Why I started this
Lumber prices and stock change from yard to yard and week to week, and getting several current quotes means a lot of calls. ELX is a way to ask once and compare. It is new, so the supplier network is still growing and I’m building it one yard at a time.
